I consider myself a private person except when it comes to my writing life. I enjoy talking about whom and what inspires me along my rollercoaster journey as an author.
Looking back I find every novel I write contains pieces of me scattered throughout the pages. When asked for interviews most often I have to think about what to say to be true to myself. This interview with Reader’s House Magazine is one of those times. I hope you enjoy reading about my writing life. Thank you!
This month is one of my favorites for it’s a reminder that love is in the air. Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and that’s big for restaurants, florists, and jewelers. With the past year of being on edge, the world needs a moment to pause and reflect on the joy of love whether past or present.
You’ll notice in all my novels there’s romance sometimes good and other times bumpy. I can’t imagine writing a story that doesn’t include a romantic aspect. Think James Bond. The story is much better because of the backstory that often becomes center stage.

When I think about Christmas my thoughts naturally gravitate to family and celebrating the season with loved ones. The expectations this year is no different from the previous happy holidays before we heard the word COVID and understood the reasons for limiting social gatherings.
For most families, including mine, the present year has precluded family gatherings and the isolation and loss of loved ones have left an indescribable heartache and void in our lives.
The season has its difficulties at the best of times dealing with family issues, but the social restraints of living in today’s world added another dimension. Yet, to live on we must rely on the promise that our lives will improve and that we will adjust and overcome that which seeks to destroy us.
This year’s optimism for a semblance of normalcy is forefront in our minds and hearts. My wish is for you and yours to have a merry and jolly Christmas Day.

I don’t know about you, but I love the contrasting seasons of the year. Whether traveling outside my homeland, to experience the winter wonderland (not so much this year), or take in photos of scenic locations, the season is pristine and washes away the cares for the day.
